What we are
DentalNPI is an independent search and information service for U.S. dentists, assembled from federal open-data sources rather than from practitioner-submitted profiles. Every provider page links back to the public record it was built from, so you can verify anything we display.
We built this site because the existing dental finder market sells rankings, hides Medicaid status, and ignores HPSA shortage areas — the signals that matter most when you are actually trying to find affordable care.
What sources we use
- NPPES (CMS) — National Provider Identifier registry, source of identity, taxonomy, address, and active status.
- HRSA HPSA — Dental Health Professional Shortage Area designations, refreshed monthly.
- CMS Open Payments — industry payments to providers, shown verbatim with no editorial inference.
- OIG Sanctions — providers under federal exclusion are filtered out of the public top-10 lists.
- CMS Quality Payment Program — MIPS scores when available.

How we're funded
Free to use, no paywall, no provider profile upsell. Operating costs are covered by display ads and contextual affiliate referrals to booking partners. Affiliate links never affect provider rankings — see our editorial policy.
What we don't do
- We don't accept payment from dentists to appear, rank higher, or have content removed.
- We don't scrape or paraphrase content from competitor directories.
- We don't provide medical advice. Information here is for orientation; care decisions belong with a licensed clinician.
